Statistics Canada reports a total of 96,815 abortions were performed on Canadian women in 2005, down 3.2 per cent from 100,039 in 2004.After a prolonged search at the Stats Canada website I managed to get the ratio of induced abortions per 100 live births. It went down from 29.7 in 2004 to 28.3 in 2005. That's a 12-year low. So the reason we have less abortions is not because there are fewer pregnancies. The number of abortions is down because there are more women choosing life.
As a result, the induced-abortion rate slipped to 14.1 for every 1,000 women aged 15 to 44 in 2005 from 14.6 in 2004.
The agency reports that abortion rates fell in every age group except among women aged 35 to 39, where it remained the same.
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and you have done everything to stand. (Ephesians 6:13)

We have to follow that up by researching chemical abortions and the number of abortifacients being sold. I'm glad surgical abortions are down, but there could be a different side to this issue.
Maybe Harpers 100 a month is helping save lives.
