40 Days For Life — Dozens Of Babies Saved & Abortion Centre Closes

It's been just a week and we already have the good news about 44 saved babies. Those are just the ones we know of, and we can look forward for a lot more innocent babies to be saved from the tragedy of abortion, especially in Severna Park, Maryland, where an abortion centre has closed down.
“It’s official!” reads the message from Michael, the local 40 Days for Life coordinator in Severna Park, Maryland.

“We have confirmed that Gynecare is closed,” he wrote, “and will not reopen its doors. The office suite that Gynecare has operated in for years is already listed for rent, and we have confirmed with the listing agent that the current tenant will be completely out of the office soon!”

For the seventh time now, the Lord has responded to 40 Days for Life volunteers’ prayers by closing the doors of a place where countless numbers of innocent lives were lost!!!
It wasn't easy for them to counter an abortion facility located in a private development, the closest the volunteers could get was several hundred yards away, but when committed people raise their prayers together, miracles do happen. The truth and a prayer touch hearts and convert minds:
A woman drove into the parking lot near the 40 Days for Life vigil location in Lawrenceville and started yelling at one of the volunteers. She was described as very aggressive and angry, shouting things like, “Just WHAT are you people doing here?”

The volunteer quietly explained what the vigil was all about — and the angry woman started to calm down a bit. During the course of a 15-minute conversation, she shared some personal information (we’re not sure exactly what was discussed), and finally she had made a complete turnaround.

“She became very sweet and very supportive of what we were doing,” one of the volunteers reported....
A nurse walked out of the abortion center that is the site of one of the 40 Days for Life vigils in the El Paso area and gave her phone number to one of the prayer volunteers.

“Please help me find a new job,” she said. “I quit!”
No wonder the pro-aborts go on the offensive. Those "planned parenthood" butchers must be getting really worried about their business.
At their kickoff event recently, the 40 Days for Life team in Santa Cruz was “welcomed” by a local anarchist group that, to say the least, is rabidly pro-abortion.

Most of what they said and most of what they did at the prayer vigil … well, I’m just not going to repeat it. Suffice it to say, it was nasty.
...
The abortionist also has a sprinkler system — but not for landscaping. The sprinklers are intentionally pointed towards the sidewalk … where the prayer volunteers stand.

He also installed a sound system that he often uses to blast out obscene music — hoping that the Christians praying on the sidewalk would be offended and leave.
...
On my recent visit to the 40 Days for Life vigil in Milwaukee, the abortion center put a sign in their window asking for contributions to “pledge to end harassment.”
...
This childish reaction speaks to the effectiveness of the prayer that they view as “harassment.”
The pro-aborts are sure getting desperate. I've already mentioned an incident in Halifax where an angry woman, pretending to be a passer-by, distracted the vigil keepers while her accomplices stole the signs. Fortunately, we haven't yet encountered that kind of animosity here in Moncton. This year's vigil is at the general hospital, so we can't know whether any of the abortions scheduled there has been cancelled. We walk by faith, not by sight and we know that our prayers are never in vain.

Don't Forget About Life Chain

With all the eyes on the 40 Days for Life, let's not forget about Life Chain, an annual day of public witness for children killed by abortion. It will be held this Sunday, October 3rd in about 200 cities across Canada. Click here for the exact time and location.
  • Stand with thousands of pro-lifers throughout the USA and Canada! You'll be a light in a darkened world as you help put an end to abortion through prayer!

  • Bring your whole family!

  • Rain or shine!
What else there is to say? Just be there. Remember - the 40 Days only requires 2 people at the time, but life chain - that's where we need as many people as possible.

Thoughts On New Brunswick Election

...Who could have thought!...

A year ago, it was believed that the Liberals were looking forward for an easy re-election. Even some 6-7 weeks ago, everybody expected a close race, something like 28:27 or 30:25 at the most. (With the NDP possibly winning a seat or two.) In the end, it's 42:13...

So, Shawn Graham is out. To be fair to him - compared to the Liberal Premiers of other provinces, he was the best. I like his tax cuts plan which proposed reducing corporate rate to 8% and bringing personal income taxes quite close to 12% flat rate. If only he had the courage to keep the spending under control. And the NB Power project... I understand the reasoning behind it, but giving up control over the province's essential infrastructure to another province... That wasn't the right strategy. So now we have a government that prioritizes spending cuts over tax cuts and that is determined to keep NB Power under New Brunswick ownership.

When it comes to the pro-life cause, there's good news and bad news. It's great to see such pro-life MLAs as Bruce Fitch, Jody Carr, John Betts and many others getting re-elected and we can probably look forward for some newly elected MLAs to join the pro-life caucus. But we also have Dr. Parrott, who apparently is not pro-life, yet who could possibly become the new health minister. The two strongest pro-abortion Liberals have been defeated, but some good pro-lifers, like Rick Brewer, also lost.

And, let's not forget David Alward himself, who is a good pro-life man. Hopefully, he also has the courage to act upon his pro-life convictions, when he appoints the cabinet ministers and when he faces the two major issues - protecting babies' lives in our hospitals and strongly defending the province against Morgentaler. Let's keep him and his fellow MLAs in our prayers.

Abortion — The Hate Crime That Goes Unpunished

Great essay by Stephen J. Gray:
In our society today there are victims who get no justice, no protection from the law, are deemed unwanted, and are therefore candidates for killing. This killing is state sanctioned and carried out by trained assassins who get paid for their grisly work. One of these workers in the fields of bloody human butchery even received his country’s highest award for his “accomplishments.” Some in the media even called him a “hero,” and some decent people who spoke out against this perversion of the political order were vilified for daring to speak out.

Speaking out or daring to show pictures of these innocent butchered hate crime victims can get one arrested or disciplined by the powers that be in this hypocrisy of a “free country.” Still, this country does have a “Charter of Rights” that allows criminals protection who land on its shores, orgies are okay as long as “no harm” is done, the perverts work has “artistic merit” and judges can “read in” words not written in the constitution. Debasement, depravity and distortion have become legitimate; therefore, it should be no surprise that ethics and morality in the land have become twisted judicially and politically.
In fact, speaking out against this despicable hate crime, can get you into trouble. Heck, you may even end up spending several years in jail - just for reminding people of the rights of those voiceless innocent victims whom so many wish to ignore.

40 Days For Life - Greetings From The Pope

I know that for the Holy Father, every day is a day of prayer for the protection of life, but still, isn't that nice?
LONDON, UK, September 24. 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Prior to the papal visit to England, the 40 Days for Life campaign team in London wrote to the pope, and has now received a letter in response from his office.

Monsignor Peter B. Wells, responding for the Holy Father, wrote that the pope "appreciates the sentiments which prompted you to write to him about your work."

According to the letter, the pope will be personally praying for "you and all those who seek to protect life in the womb, that their efforts might lead to a growing appreciation of the inalienable rights of the unborn child."

A scan of the exact letter is posted online here.
In Moncton we're doing quite well. Probably, the biggest challenge faced by the participants is registering online, as verification emails often get caught by spam filters thus preventing people from accessing the schedule. But many people don't even bother with online registration, they just show up.

Overall, people in Moncton were quite positive to the 40 Day vigil. Some even offered to bring us coffee and donuts. Obviously, we did have some angry remarks too; some guy even went as far as jumping around us yelling "choice" (not the baby's choice, that's for sure,) but it's not nearly as bad as in Halifax, where the pro-aborts resort to theft and vandalism in a pathetic attempt to discourage people from participating in the vigil.

First they vandalized a bookstore which promoted the campaign. Then, when the vigil started, they raided the vigil site; while one of them distracted Julie, pretending to be an angry passer-by, the others stole the signs and run off. (The police had to be called.) Let the words of the Holy Father be an encouragement to the courageous folks in Halifax, who keep the vigil going in spite of all the harassment from the pro-aborts.

P.S. It looks like some pro-aborts have started a counter campaign against the 40 Days for Life. They call it "4000 years for (un)choice", aimed to celebrate the "the ancient traditions of abortion and contraception from the past 4000 years". Well, they better check their history books and see for themselves what happened to those civilizations and cultures that did embrace abortion, contraception and infant sacrifices back then. Their culture is no exception; those of them that are in their 20s and 30s will see the culture of poor "choice" fading into nonexistence in their lifetime.

Understanding The Liberal Mind

Here's a couple of essays by Craig Carter, the author of The Politics of the Cross Resurrected blog.

Part 1: Who Owns Your Money?
...A tax cut is like a generous concession on the part of a Feudal Lord to one of his serfs: he doesn't have to do it but he does out of generosity. Yet, the money we are talking about does not belong to Nancy Peolosi or the Federal Government but to the individuals who earned it. It is their money. And it is not needed for the legitimate operation of the government for the common good (defence, police, roads etc.) but for the purpose of redistribution by Government according to socialist ideology.

Ultimately, Pelosi regards all the wealth as belonging to the Government and its job is to decide how much to let each citizen keep.
Part 2: Why The Tea Partiers "Must" Be Racist?
The Left, of course, is obsessed with race: racial quotas, affirmative action, victimization. The Left has nothing but scorn for Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream of a color blind society, which makes their faux outrage over Glenn Beck using Martin Luther King Jr. Day for his Restoring Honor rally on the Washington Mall a pile of hypocrisy. They left "Uncle Martin" behind a long time ago and his only use to them now is as a symbol into which they pour their radical ideology.

So maybe it is just cynical, gutter-level, street fighting politics. But there is a problem with this theory. While it explains why the hard core Left makes the accusation of racism, it does not explain why more moderate, less ideological and more sincerely motivated people buy into it.
And finally, an essay by Carson Holloway - "The Sources of Liberal Intolerance":
Liberal intolerance is rooted in a secular disregard for the dignity of individuals, coupled with the veneration of Progress and the belief that liberal ideologies can’t win in public debate.
Right on! We've seen how "eager" the pro-aborts are to defend their views in an open debate. When it comes to other sacred cows of today's left, their reaction is quite similar - it's a human rights (or a social justice) issue, doubting (let alone - discussing) human rights and social justice is racist, fascist, discriminatory etc; participating in such a debate would be humiliating to a true "progressive", thus - no debate is or will be allowed, period.
...We must remember that contemporary liberalism is not classical 19th century liberalism, but is a form of liberalism that has surrendered in large part to socialist thinking. Contemporary liberalism allows Marxists to pose as insiders to Western political systems rather than appearing as an outside enemy seeking to destroy the system. The intolerance of contemporary liberalism arises out of the mixing of revolutionary Marxism with liberal thought to create something antithetical to the Western tradition.
Straight and to the point.

Now It's Called "Global Climate Disruption"

What does a warm-monger say when the facts clearly show no sign of global warming, but there's more than enough evidence of manipulating data? How does he prove that his beliefs in man-made climate disaster have any scientific merit? He says that the theory was incorrectly named and that the proper name would be "global weirding" or "global climate change" or "global climate disruption":
White House science advisor John Holdren made news when, in a recent presentation, he recommended describing the changes occurring to the Earth's climate as "global climate disruption" as opposed to "global warming." Holdren referred to the term global warming as a "(dangerous) misnomer" (for reasons stated in the slide to the right).
So, the "global warming" is not really global and not really about warming. Nonetheless, they insist, it's certainly happening and certainly harmful. That's why you certainly need climate experts like Holdren that are always glad to tell you what to do to "save the Earth"...

How come there are still people who call this global climate fraud a science?

"Right to Die" or Chance to Live

Right in time for the 40 Days for Life, great article by Michael Coren:
Please don’t tell me about pain and suffering. My father died of cancer of the spine, after surviving a serious stroke and having lived for thirty years with psoriasis and arthritis. But then my dad was brave and not afraid of life’s challenges. Not afraid of death’s sting either and would have told the right to die mob to take a hike.

My mother had severe dementia and the words she uttered for the two years before her death no longer made any sense and she could seldom feed herself and tended to wander. This intensely intelligent and startlingly kind woman was deprived of so much of what made her who she was.

Yet the essential, the core, was still there. She was still the same person and the same soul. Yes, the soul. Created and given by God. To have sacrificed my mother as a martyr on the black altar of euthanasia would have been an obscenity beyond compare. That splendid and sagacious writer GK Chesterton once said that, “The man who kills a man, kills a man. The man who kills himself, kills all men; as far as he is concerned he wipes out the world.” Quite so.

The poor wretch in Ottawa was a victim of societal pressures and expectations, even if he wasn’t aware of it. I will not comment on his family but I will say that if either of my parents had reached the point where they wanted life to end I would have felt that I had been a personal failure.

I would ask why had I not found the right medical, spiritual and emotional support for them? Why had I not convinced them that life was good and that the sight of playing grandchildren, a new dawn, an old friend was worth the fight?
Let's not forget that, as we launch the 40 day prayer vigil for life - for the right to life, for the culture of life. Let's not forget that it's not just about ending abortion, but also - about preventing direct actions which end another person's life (otherwise known as "euthanasia" and "assisted suicide") from ever becoming legal.

Launching 40 Days For Life In Moncton

Yes, it's happening! Moncton is joining over 240 cities in the US, Canada, Europe and Australia in a 40-day prayer for life. It wasn't easy to organize such an event in a small city like Moncton, but with the help of devoted volunteers from all across the province, we made it. Today was the launching ceremony.

We started with a gathering at St. Patric's family Centre. Soon we ran out of chairs - and of space. (Luckily, the room could be expanded.) Then, after a few short speeches and a prayer, we marched by the candlelight to the vigil site, where another prayer was said and a few songs were sung...

Tomorrow is the first day. Our vigil won't be 24/7, as it is in larger cities (including Ottawa,) but we'll make sure that it keeps going on for at least 12 hours a day, from 7am to 7pm, for the entire 40 days.

Dictatorship Of Relativism, Atheist Extremism Threaten Our Freedoms

The Pope sure knew what he was talking about, when he warned people about the threats posed by atheist extremism. Practically, as the Pope was speaking in the UK, in the other hemisphere, a Brazilian pastor was threatened with "legal measures" by government, for speaking out against the ruling party's pro-abortion and pro-homosexualist policies. In Arizona, a pro-abort activist, who had been verbally harassing pro-life protesters, went as far as trying to run down one of them. This incident took place just two weeks after another Arizona man threatened to shoot two pro-life women.

Obviously we know that pro-aborts and anti-family types can't defend their point of view in an open, honest debate, but that doesn't justify their violence. They cry foul about the "rise of the religious right", about "Christian fundamentalism" being a threat to personal freedoms. But in reality, it's them who believe that governments must adhere to their creed. And it's their morally relativist, radical atheist ideology, which they enforce through various "human rights" bodies that threatens our rights and freedoms.

Suffering And Strength — What Is The True Meaning Of "I want to die"?

Monique David offers a great explanation in her presentation to the Quebec committee on euthanasia.
"I want to die" is a powerful sentence whose meaning begs to be questioned and understood -- so we, as a society, can allocate more collective will, expertise, creativity and research, especially for the psychological and physical relief of degenerative diseases.

We urgently need more doctors trained in pain management, which should become an essential part of basic university medical training. Regarding psychological, social and spiritual suffering, palliative care medicine is a highly effective solution.
...
Euthanasia and assisted suicide advocates claim the right to terminate life at the moment and in the way that the individual chooses (or that someone chooses for his). Therefore, we should not be referring to the "right to die" (a right that is intrinsic to the human condition), but rather to the right to be killed. It is separate from suicide, which has existed since the dawn of humanity, and whose practitioners seek no sanction from society.
Monique knows what she's talking about. After all, her own father was in the same situation. He too used to believe that it would be better for him to be killed, but thanks to all the family support and professional help, he changed his mind. This personal experience convinced Monique that desires to die should be disarmed, not encouraged. Hopefully, her testimony convinces the Quebec committee on euthanasia to reject the false notion of an implied "right" to be killed.

Very Influential, Well-Funded People Want To Destroy The Traditional Family

Some of them wish they could use bombs. Others prefer subversion and brainwashing:
"Destroy the Traditional Family: The Game"
...
Participants can use the cursor (shaped like a target) to click on images of happy traditional families, and watch as bombs fall onto the collage of smiling portraits, leaving only a black crater in their wake!

And we're the intolerant bigots?

Of course we realize that the people behind the website have no intention of actually bombing families. But what it does make clear is what LifeSiteNews.com has been saying for years:

Very influential, well-funded people are trying to destroy the traditional family.

Anti-family groups, organizations, and individuals have made it their mission to completely deconstruct the family, giving it a subjective meaning that can be molded and warped to an individual's liking. The result is not a new type of family, but the destruction of family, the bedrock of civilization, altogether.

Perhaps no institution has done more to further this destruction than Hollywood.

In early August, actress Jennifer Aniston revealed her opposition to the conventional family, asking, "What is it that defines a family? It isn't necessarily the traditional mother, father, two children and a dog named Spot." Aniston even claimed that fathers aren't necessary, and that women "don't have to fiddle with a man to have that child," as though men are merely toys which may or may not be used as instruments for childbearing.
That pretty much says it all. Boycotting those Hollywood social perverts is great, but we need our own media outlets. Please consider supporting Life Site News.

The Rise Of Eco-Fascism

The dirty shade of environmentalist-green:
While it seems certain that Mr. Lee was a monomaniacal lunatic, it must also be pointed out that he didn't pull his ideas out of thin air. Rather, they are natural but absurd extensions of deep-green environmental thought.

From celebrated Canadian high-seas eco-activist Paul Watson, who has unapologetically described humans as the "AIDS of the Earth," to writer Stephanie Mills, who described Homo sapiens as "debased human protoplasm," such implicitly murderous rhetoric is all too common.

Sadly, its associated nihilism is insinuating itself into the popular culture. And here's another bit of irony: If Mr. Lee had merely flipped to the History Television channel and started watching the Life After People series, he might have found sufficient anti-human, anti-civilization succour to soothe the beast that was roiling within his mind.
So much about "protecting the environment" and "caring for our planet", as the green activists tend to portray their movement. And, we're not talking about some overzealous radical marginals. This is mainstream and often it's very difficult to determine where does the official green party end and the radical eco-fascism begins. The very organization which Paul Watson leads, used to have none other than Elizabeth May on its advisory board. Who didn't find it necessary to distance herself from Watson (let alone - condemning his misanthropic views) even when the controversy over the organization forced her to resign.

Pro-Abort Way To Win Arguments — Vandalizing A Catholic Bookstore

How typical of them - trying to scare the opponents when they can't win the debate.
HALIFAX, Nova Scotia, September 14, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A volunteer-run Catholic bookstore in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia that has been subject to increasing vandalism due to its promotion of life and family has responded by raising its voice even louder in encouraging locals to get more involved in pro-life activities.

On Saturday, the windows at Veritas Catholic Books & Gifts were pasted with pro-abortion posters advertising “underground abortions.” The posters were posted so as to cover up an ad for the local 40 Days for Life campaign.

In recent months the store’s windows have been scratched and plastered with hard grease to cover up promotions of natural family planning, post-abortion healing, and the 40 Days campaign. Vandals have even smashed the door lock and injected glue into it to prevent the door from being opened.
Underground abortions, they say? Well, what's the difference between "underground" abortions and those performed in abortion "clinics", especially those that fail to meet the basic health standards? (Remember the scandal in Quebec, when abortion mills threatened to go out of business if the government insisted on the requirement for them to have sterile operating rooms?)

What's the difference between those crooked physicians that performed back-alley abortions in the past and the abortion providers of today that find it acceptable to yell at those who hesitate? And what's the difference between home abortions of the past and so called "telemed" chemical abortions promoted by "planned parenthood"? Women die anyway, don't they?

The very argument - "if a woman is not allowed to abort her unborn baby, she'll do that anyway, illegally, but she might get injured in the process" - it sounds quite similar to "if a cash-strapped guy is not legally permitted to poison his rich grandfather, he'll try to do that anyway, but he may also accidentally poison himself..." And that attitude towards the unborn - which regards him as by definition, something inferior, that could be sacrificed for personal convenience, that could be destroyed while he's still small and barely noticeable, to "liberate" women from motherhood and men - from responsibility - that is the root of the problem.

And that's what the 40 Days for Life is all about. This is not a protest - this is a peaceful prayer. And we're not praying for the abortion facilities to burn down or for something bad to happen to the abortion providers. We're praying to end abortion. We're praying for the change of attitude towards the unborn, that would make abortion unthinkable. And if the pro-aborts feel threatened by our prayers to such extent that they go and vandalize a bookstore which promotes the prayer event - that means we're on the right track.

W.A.K.E.U.P. (Women Against the Killing and Exploitation of Unprotected Persons)

Here's another aspect of "choice" that almost never gets mentioned. Abortion - it's not just the murder of a child, but also - the selling of the body parts: Aborted baby parts are being marketed like used cars. Healthy late-term aborted babies are in high demand and abortion mills often manipulate late-term abortions, so that they have live births and fresher tissue - to get more money. Where there is demand, there is supply. The link between abortion industry and fetal tissue research is obvious and is visible even to those unwilling to notice it:
Theresa Deisher, the Seattle researcher at the center of a legal battle to stop President Obama’s expansion of human embryonic stem-cell research, used to think all the human embryonic tissue the biotech industry was using came from miscarriages.

Until one day a colleague demanded, “How can you be so gullible?”

“It wasn’t out in the open then like it is now,” says Deisher, whose participation in a lawsuit by Advocates International and the Christian Medical Association was crucial in securing an injunction temporarily halting federal funding for new human embryonic stem-cell research last month.
...
Once she pursued the miscarriage explanation, she realized that to be useful in research the embryonic tissue would have to be recovered and preserved within a few minutes of the unborn baby’s death, while most miscarriages are not discovered until days after the event.

Geert Wilders: A Tolerant Society Is Not A Suicidal Society

"In the name of freedom: No mosque here!" Here are some video excerpts from Geert Wilders' speech:
And here's the full text of the speech:
...His “Blame the West, Blame America”-message is an insult. Americans – and by extension, all of us whose civilization was also attacked on 9/11/2001 – are not to blame for what happened here nine years ago today. Osama bin Laden is not made in the USA.

The West never “harmed” Islam before it harmed us.

Most Americans do not want this so-called Cordoba Mosque to be built here. They understand that it is both a provocation and a humiliation. They understand the triumphant narrative of a mosque named after the Great Mosque of Cordoba which was constructed where a Christian cathedral stood before the land was conquered by Islam.
...
It’s about the symbolic meaning. We who have come to speak today, object to this mosque project because its promoter and his wealthy sponsors have never suggested building a center to promote tolerance and interfaith understanding where it is really needed: In Mecca – a town where non-Muslims are not even allowed to enter, let alone build churches, synagogues, temples or community centers.

Ordinary Americans object to the mosque project because currently no fewer than ten major multi-million dollar mosque projects are being planned in the United States as well as dozens in Europe, while not a single church is allowed in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, while Jews are not even allowed to move their lips in prayer on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, while the oldest Christians in the world, the Copts, are not free to renovate their churches, let alone to build one in Egypt.
...
Nine years ago, when the news of the terrible atrocity in New York reached Europe, Muslim youths danced in the streets. In a poll, two thirds of the Muslim immigrants in the Netherlands expressed partial or full understanding for the 9/11 terrorists.

If a mosque were built here on Ground Zero such people would feel triumphant. But we, we will not betray those who died on 9/11.

For their sakes we cannot tolerate a mosque on or near Ground Zero. For their sakes loud and clear we say: No mosque here! For their sakes, we must draw the line. So that New York, rooted in Dutch tolerance, will never become New Mecca.
What he said. Where is America's own Geert Wilders? Let alone - Canada's own Geert Wilders...

Saturday, September 11, 2010

Stop The Ground Zero Mosque!

If you naively believe in the all the rhetoric which the mosque supporters use to sugarcoat their actions, if you think that this is all about "peaceful coexistence", about "promoting understanding of Islam", about "multiculturalism" and "diversity", just ask yourself - what about the Ground Zero Church? Why it is more important to build a mega-mosque, than to restore St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, which was destroyed by the falling debris on the day of the attack?
The proposed “Cordoba House” overlooking the World Trade Center site – where a group of jihadists killed over 3000 Americans and destroyed one of our most famous landmarks – is a test of the timidity, passivity and historic ignorance of American elites. For example, most of them don’t understand that “Cordoba House” is a deliberately insulting term. It refers to Cordoba, Spain – the capital of Muslim conquerors who symbolized their victory over the Christian Spaniards by transforming a church there into the world’s third-largest mosque complex.

Tolerance is a two-way street. All those who want the society to show tolerance towards Muslims and to respect their feelings, better learn to show tolerance and to respect the feelings of those who don't want a giant Muslim shrine built at the site of a terror attack, perpetrated, financed and carried out by militant jihadist Muslims. (Not to mention - overwhelmingly supported by Muslims.)

P.S. Take a look at this. How come it's always us who have to be tolerant, but never the Muslims?...

"Human Rights" Jackboot Gets A Taste Of His Own Medicine

Some radical leftie intellectual wanted to become dean of law, but her bid failed due to accusations of plagiarism, so she blames racism and sexism for not getting the desired position. At first sight, this looks like a typical phony accusation of human rights abuse; a typical course of action of a radical leftie intellectual who cries discrimination when things don't go her way. But - look who is the one targeted by the "human rights" complaint. I bet we've heard that name already, didn't we?
A law professor is asking the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario to force the University of Windsor to appoint her dean of law, after her candidacy was spoiled by accusations of plagiarism and, she claims, racism and sexism.

Emily Carasco, a one-time NDP candidate who teaches family and immigration law at the university, is also seeking payments for “injury to dignity” of $60,000 from the school, and $15,000 from her colleague who raised the accusation, hate-speech expert Richard Moon.
Yes, that's the Richard Moon, one of the CHRC's most committed defenders.
What a nightmare for him. Even if he wins, he loses. Mind you, unlike me, I'm sure his (and his wife's) legal bills will be paid for by the university. Still, he's about to learn, first-hand, what a show trial is like from the inside.

Gentle reader, do not gloat. It might be tempting to smile at the fact that Moon, who has tried so hard to defend the legitimacy of human rights commissions, is now getting the kangaroo treatment himself, and at the hands of Barbara Hall, no less. But schadenfreude is unbecoming. Just because Moon believes politically correct hunter-killer bureaucrats should be sicced on you and me, doesn't mean we should descend to that level and cheer that they are now being sicced on him.

And, let us remember, that although Moon pocketed his $50,000 to write a brochure for the CHRC, and although he vigorously defends the CHRC's bullies, including Richard Warman, Moon also publicly recommended that the CHRC's censorship powers (also known as section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act) be repealed. So there is a little bit of gold in that heart of stone.
Hopefully, once he goes through the process, once he faces the Orwellian tribunal, where truth isn't the defense, where the standard rules of evidence don't apply and where the presumption is guilty until proven innocent, he too will realize that "human rights" commissions better be abolished and that complaints over discrimination and human rights abuse should be heard in the court of law.

Pro-Aborts Hire Thugs To Harass Protesters

The folks at the abortion facilities must be getting really desperate.
Demonic screaming and moaning, groping, and other forms of psycho-terrorism against pro-lifers from abortionist Christian Fiala's paid employees have been documented on video since at least 2007, and published by the Catholic Web site Gloria.tv. Footage shows the attackers sexually assaulting pro-lifers, including undoing a man's zipper, pushing a wooden object into a woman's crotch, and other disturbing behavior.

Fiala has admitted, in an interview with the Austrian weekly newspaper Falter, to hiring the thugs himself to harass the "religious activists."
...
The most recent videos show two men, who were video-taped in a huddle with the abortionist, poking a pro-lifer with the points of an umbrella, pushing him towards the street, cutting up his rosary, tearing away pro-life fliers, and even stealing his wallet. The videos clearly show one of the attackers kicking the pro-lifer, who cries out in pain, in the leg. In June 2009 the pro-lifer's finger was bloodied after he was attacked with a pair of scissors.
Apparently there aren't that many young pro-abort volunteers to stage a counter-protest. Which is quite understandable - after all, choices have consequences, including the "choice" to abort and contracept the next generation out of existence. So the pro-aborts have no choice, but to hide behind their goons and gag laws. Because, without goons, there's no way for them to win an argument. Especially when it comes to arguing with those who once fell for their lies?

Pastor Joshua (Kulendran Mayandy) Passed Away

Instead of trying to save his life, the hospital wanted him dead - and they got him dead, one way or the other:
Yesterday afternoon (September 6), Pastor Joshua (Kulendran Mayandy) passed away at the Brampton (Ontario) Civic Hospital.
...
Joshua had fluids and nutrition withheld from him based on a cognitive disability that was caused by a heart attack, where he stopped breathing for several minutes.

Joshua was left without IV fluids, nutrition and medication from August 17 until the SDM agreed to have him fed orally on August 28 by a nurse from his Church. At that time, Joshua was not otherwise dying.

Last week Joshua had a seizure, making it impossible to continue feeding him orally.

You need to protect yourself.
That says it all. Pastor Joshua's case is not the only act of euthanasia that took place on Canadian soil. According to Gaétan Barrette, president of the Federation of Quebec Medical Specialists (FMSQ), euthanasia is already being practiced in the Quebec hospitals. Now, Quebec is conducting public hearings on euthanasia. And they already consider the options such as imitating British Columbia's "selective" attitude to prosecution of assisted suicide cases or - directing the provincial Crown prosecutors not to lay charges against doctors who end the lives of the terminally ill, elderly or profoundly disabled. Thus, any one of us could end up in pastor Joshua's situation.

The Euthanasia Prevention Coalition offers life-protecting Power of Attorney for Personal Care forms, to protect people from being dehydrated to death or denied basic care. But that's obviously - a short-term solution. After all, as we've seen, if the hospital (or anyone else who considers you to be a burden,) really wants to get rid of you - they will. We need to redouble our efforts to stop euthanasia once and for all. Together with the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, Life Canada, Living With Dignity and all other pro-life organizations, we must do everything possible to ensure that intentional killing of the elderly and disabled does not become the new "norm".

CBC's Double Standards Exposed Again

Violence in the name of a different cause, receives different coverage:
In their Wednesday night coverage of James J. Lee’s enviro-terrorism at the Discovery Communications building in Silver Springs, Maryland, The National failed to mention Lee’s environmental motivations and wrapped up the piece in 45 seconds.

“Imagine how differently they’d treat it if Lee was an anti-abortion extremist instead,” commented Jim Hughes, National President of Campaign Life Coalition.

When abortionist Dr. Bernard Slepian was killed in Buffalo by an anti-abortion extremist, The National carried a nine-minute segment detailing the incident and past instances of violence against abortionists.
...
In a manifesto published online, Lee had called on the Discovery Channel and TLC to "stop all shows glorifying human birthing." He demanded that they feature shows discouraging the overpopulation of "parasitic human infants" to save the earth from global warming and pollution.

The CBC report described Lee as “a man who has railed against the Discovery Channel’s programming for years,” but offered no explanation of his objections to the programming. CTV News, on the other hand, described him as an “environmental activist”.
So, "a man has been rallying against the Discovery channel for years" and the CBC couldn't (or didn't bother to) figure out what his rallying was all about. Could they be so ignorant and incompetent or are they just pretending not to notice the obvious, in order to avoid portraying an environmentalist in a negative light? If they are ignorant or incompetent - then they don't deserve to be Canada's national broadcaster. If however they just didn't want the environmentalist movement to look bad - then they are obviously playing favorites - and then again, they don't deserve to be Canada's taxpayer-funded national broadcaster.

When The Doctor Says "To The Morgue"...

...Then to the morgue it is:
A week ago, the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition was successful in helping the friends of Joshua (Kulendran Mayandy) gain permission to have Joshua orally fed. Joshua was then able to feed orally without complications, but any other form of feeding (IV or otherwise) continued to be denied. We helped by organizing legal and medical support and a media response to his case throughout North America.

A couple of days ago, Joshua had a seizure. He is now in a semi-coma state and unable to feed orally.
This is not even a criminal negligence. That's an outright murder. That the patient is in critical condition does never justify putting him to death; especially if the critical condition was caused by the hospital's own decision to deny nutrition.

Government Flip-Flops On Abortion Funding. Another Attempt To Appease The "Moderates" - Or Worse?

So, a Cabinet minister (Bev Oda) announces that the Canadian government is now open to funding abortion under its G8 maternal health plan. And on the same day (or very close to it,) there is a new poll released, according to which the Conservatives and the Liberals not only run neck in neck, but the Liberals are actually likely to win more seats in spite of having slightly fewer votes.

We've seen that before, just 4 months ago or so. After standing up to those demanding more tax funds for abortion (and leading in the polls,) the party tried to soften its stance - and slipped to virtual party with the Liberals. They managed to reverse the trend, once the signs of economic recovery became visible, but apparently they haven't learned their lesson. Again, they are trying to pander to the left, in a pathetic attempt to boost their support.

Do they believe the left-leaning moderates may eventually let go of the "scary, cold, out of touch Harper" image and vote Conservative? Do they believe that all the "middle of the road progressives" will actually support a "Liberal-light" party, when they can get the real deal? Or, could it be that some CPC strategists purposely seek to alienate the party's Social Conservative voter base? Garth Turner is out, but many others who share his views are still in the party. Plus, we all know who typically gets blamed every time the Conservative party fails to perform as desired. "Harper was way too scary", they'll say, "we need someone more moderate". And they'll bring in someone like John Tory - with obvious consequences for the party and for the Conservative movement in Canada.

Duggar Kids — Who Is Being Held Captive?

Here's an interesting post on Jill Stanek's blog. A journalist from a Christian radio station came to meet the Duggar family. Obviously, he'd heard about them before, including the much often repeated claim that their 19 homeschooled kids are "captives in their own home". And indeed, he didn't see posters of vampires and celebrities in their room. However, he figured out that while not familiar with the so called "popular culture", the Duggar children are still much better off than their peers:
While, admittedly, I admire the Duggars for much of what they do, I didn’t expect what I saw in these 3 girls. The world has yet to beat them into submission. They don’t watch the Disney Channel, so they’ve yet to learn that adults are buffoons and parents are embarrassing. They don’t listen to the local rock station, so they’ve yet do discover life is supposed to be one promiscuous event followed by another. They don’t attend public school, so they’ve yet to learn teenage girls are required to be filled with angst and riddled with insecurities.

As we spoke to the 3 of them, one word kept jumping out at me: Freedom. These girls were experiencing freedom teenagers rarely taste. Completely free to be themselves. The exact opposite of the words so often used by media folk to describe the 19 kids.

While many times teenagers can’t wait to get away from adults, these 3 were anxious to engage in conversation. And they were delightful. All of the Duggars were.
So, who is being held captive? The Duggar children - to their "Christian fundamentalist" parents (as many critics label them,) or the vast majority of other teenagers - to all the telescreen trash, otherwise known as "popular culture"?

Video: Are The Unborn Human?

It should be clear that the unborn are human, says Lia Mills, the bright 13 year-old pro-life girl from Toronto. Using the books that are available in any public library, she proves that life begins at conception and that the unborn are human. She then goes through the arguments of the pro-abort side and rebuts them one by one.
"Is it possible to be a human and not a person?", Lia asks in conclusion. That's the question which the pro-abort side is so anxious to avoid. That's why they pretend to be ignorant of the basic biological facts that even a 13-year old can easily understand.
