A Question Dion Couldn't Anwer

The question was simple: "if you were Prime Minister now, what would you have done that Mr. Harper has not done?" Dion failed to answer it. Either he just couldn't understand the question (which the interviewer asked him three times) or he simply had no answer...
Too bad the CTV chose not to broadcast this part with the actual interview, leaving it up to a handful of bloggers to spread the word.

you would think anyone running for office could bore you to tears with a question like that.

Don't be silly. The idea behind the question was simple. The question itself was asked in a stupid way. If you want to know what someone would have done starting two and a half years ago, someone with a good command of the English language says "What would you have done differently if you'd been elected two and a half years ago". Clear & simple.

Asking "if you were Prime Minister now" only serves to make the question less clear. Dion's reactions reflect poorly on him, but only the blindly partisan or those with poor English skills think that Duffy's question was "simple".
