Ontario Catholic Schools Stripped Of Their Identity

As per Ontario’s Education Minister Laurel Broten, all Ontarians are equal and must be protected from bullying. But Catholics are apparently less equal, so bullying them is fine, especially in the name of "anti-bullying":

TORONTO, Oct. 10, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In what pro-life leaders are calling a stunning and unprecedented attack on religious freedom, Ontario’s Education Minister has apparently declared that Catholic schools can no longer teach that abortion is wrong.

Laurel Broten, who serves under Liberal Premier Dalton McGuinty, said Wednesday that Catholic schools are barred from teaching this core moral belief because Bill 13, the government’s controversial “anti-bullying” law, prohibits “misogyny.”

In other words, not only Ontario Catholic schools must now allow perverse clubs on their premises, but they also can no longer teach the Catholic Church position on human life and fetal rights. So what exactly makes these schools "Catholic", may I ask?

Campaign Life Coalition (CLC) has launched a petition demanding the Minister's resignation and the rescindment of Bill 13. Consider signing it. However, unless McGuinty's government falls anytime soon and the PC wins the subsequent election, things are unlikely to change.

And another thing: As much as the recent development is outrageous, it was possible to see this coming, long before the bill 13 was drafted.

By the way, all of you who send your kids to the separate school system and voted for Dalton McGuinty, you can probably kiss the separate school system good bye. I give it 5 years, if that. – John Pacheco

This was written right after the 2007 election, when McGuinty and his internazi-sozi thugs won their second majority. It's been 5 years (almost to the day) and the government-funded Catholic school system is now Catholic in name only. Give it another 5 years or so - and it will share the fate of its long gone Protestant counterpart.
