September 30, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Canadian National Post, which until the advent of SUN news network was thought to be the most conservative national mainstream media outlet in the country, has shocked conservatives by apologizing for running a pro-family advertisement. Moreover, the National Post says it will be donating the thousands of dollars paid for the ad by the pro-family group to a homosexual activist group.Judging from the comments, the newspaper has capitulated once again, altering the text of their apology. (Just sort the comments from oldest to newest.) In the last sentence of the 3rd to last paragraph, the phrase "people who have made choices about their sexuality with which the group disagrees" was apparently replaced with "people with whose sexuality the group disagrees" - to suit the myths propagated by the homosexualist groups that their perverse behavior is their "identity" rather than an intrinsically disordered lifestyle choice.
The ad, sponsored by the Institute for Christian Values, depicted a large picture of a little girl with the header, “Please! Don’t confuse me.” Below the photo, the youngster said, “I’m a girl. Don’t teach me to question if I’m a boy, transsexual, transgendered, intersexed or two spirited.” The ad specifically addressed the Toronto District School Board’s policy of forbidding parents to opt out of its pro-homosexual curriculum.
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and you have done everything to stand. (Ephesians 6:13)

National Post Capitulates To Militant Perverts
They apologized for pro-family ad and promised to donate the proceeds from the ad to a homosexual activist group:
Abortion Industry Thugs Are Losing Ground
In spite of all the euphemisms abortionists use to hide the true nature of their practice, in spite of all their claims that this is merely a "medical procedure", doctors are increasingly refusing to do abortions:
The author, a female abortionist who writes anonymously, says she fears that if current trends are not corrected, the killing of the unborn will be “endangered.”I'd like to see the author's face when she hears the stories of Abby Johnson and Ramona Trevino:
“I think that [abortion] is a medical practice that is ‘tolerated’ more than it is really accepted, even several decades after its legalization, and including in the heart of the medical community,” she writes.
“It isn’t rare to hear strongly disagreeable reflections [regarding abortion] on the part of fellow physicians, a sign of little openness of spirit and of tolerance regarding VIP [Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy].”
“Just in my ‘small’ experience at the heart of our establishment, few gynecologists commit themselves at a reasonable level to the practice of VIP ... fewer and fewer, and fewer and fewer among the younger generations ... We count them on our fingers, with one hand, where I work ... They use their ‘conscience clause’ to justify their lack of involvement.”
A lot of the abortion debate has surrounded “demand” while the supply factor (i.e. doctors who are willing to perform them) has been almost ignored. That’s why now, faced with dwindling numbers of abortionists, the abortion lobby wants to strike conscience clauses from the medical code of ethics. They want to force unwilling doctors to perform abortions. In the name of “choice”, of course. Here in New Brunswick the situation is quite similar: We have the Morgentaler's team suing the province for taxpayer-funded abortions on demand, we have a "human rights" complaint launched by none other but the practitioner who performs abortions at the George Dumont hospital. And at the same time, many in the hospital are greatly uncomfortable with all the abortions that take place there. We were told that last year's 40 Days for Life vigil did result in some heated discussions... Let's hope that eventually, some of that gets expressed at the board meeting - prompting the hospital to stop performing abortions once and for all.
It’s the end of the line for the abortion industry when it starts to do that. They’ve lost the political and social debate and now they are resorting to thug-like tactics.

180 The Movie – One of the Best Pro-Life Documentaries Ever
What changed their minds... ...in seconds?
H/t SoCon Or Bust
H/t SoCon Or Bust
September 15, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - What could you say in less than a minute to make a typical “pro-choice” American do a “180” on abortion?Check out the the 180 website for more trailers and information.
A free pro-life documentary film set for release Sept 26 is challenging viewers with that question, as its creators are giving a sneak peek at extraordinary conversations with young people captured on video as they’re asked to reconsider their position on abortion.
Armed with nothing but a microphone and a Kiwi accent, New Zealand-born pro-life Christian minister Ray Comfort is heard in the trailer for “180” asking youth about their position on abortion - before the tape zips a few seconds later as the interviewees say they’ve changed their mind. “When you put it that way, yeah, it does change your mind,” says one young man.

40 Days For Life: Tomorrow We Begin
We have the record number of cities participating - over 300, 15 of them - in Canada, including both Moncton and Fredericton. Now, we have to make sure we live up to our commitment and keep the vigil going:
On the eve of the largest 40 Days for Life campaign ever, I cannot wait to see what God has in store over these next 40 days!Meanwhile two more abortion centers have shut down following the previous 40 Days for Life vigils. That makes sixteen abortion centers where 40 Days for Life vigils have occurred that have shut down. And it's only up to us to make sure that this number keeps growing.
After speaking at the 40 Days for Life kickoff event in Germantown, Maryland on Sunday night, I will be heading out to meet our national director, David Bereit, in Montana for a kickoff event there later this week.
The excitement has NEVER been higher going into a campaign!
This fall’s campaign is BIG. Let’s just look at the numbers:While those numbers are exciting, I really want to focus on a small number — ONE …
- 301 locations taking part from September 28 to November 6
- hundreds and hundreds of church congregations joining the campaign
- 48 NEW locations including Argentina, Puerto Rico and Germany
- tens of thousands of people who will take part … and maybe more!
… and the one is … YOU!

Petition: Stop Corrupting Children
Basically, this flyer, that features quotes from the Toronto District School Board "human rights education" curriculum, as well as its official policy statements, says it all: Parents have no right to withdraw their children from these lectures that promote perverse "pride" and "gender-bending" to 8 year-olds and, obviously, there's no accommodation for the teachers that find this sort of "curriculum" objectionable.
H/t Just Right
Please make a stand for parental rights, sign the petition. And if you happen to live in Ontario - make sure you don't vote for the internazi-sozi thugs who've forced this perverse curriculum on Ontario children.

Public Education - Just Another Word For Sexual Propaganda?
The research, done by Lou Iacobelli, the author of the Every Day For Life Canada blog, just confirms the obvious:
And, of course, remember - it's always worth considering independent education for our children. That's so far is the best and the most reliable way to save our children from abuse. Because even if the legal action succeeds, this perverse curriculum is still not going to be abolished overnight.
What is happening to public education is truly frightening. If you visit any school board web site in Ontario you may be surprised to find that the major educational problems in the province and the rest of Canada are homophobia and bullying based on sexual orientation. In Ontario alone, millions of taxpayer dollars have been spent to develop and to implement the Equity and Inclusive Education Strategy. However, as a parent, when I attended consultations meeting on the Equity policy for Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) we were told something entirely different. Here's the list of "days of significance" which are promoted by the Toronto District School Board. And here's what it looks like in a Catholic school. Concerned parents have set up a legal defense fund to fight for parental rights in education - please consider contributing.
...
In the past, the average parent has trusted the educational system, but things have dramatically changed to the point that boards will blatantly defy parental rights and abuse children's innocence. Parents have intentionally been uninformed. Let me go on to demonstrate the liberties the Toronto public board has taken in developing curriculum topics. Presently you find, in the TDSB website the yearly planner. It lists all the pro-homosexual days like Pride Week, planned for June 22, 2012. I would encourage parents to visit the site to see what is now considered education this coming school year. Can the TCDSB be far behind?
...
Remember that Bill 157 was made law even before the Equity policy was totally approved by all school boards. So there's a clear government agenda to mislead parents to justify what we now see in board planners: an explicit sexual attack on children, moral values and parental rights. If parents believed they could trust the school boards and the government that pays them to do what's right for their children, the implementation of the Equity policy should now have shattered that myth. The policy's very name hides the sexual propaganda about homosexuality, the desecration of the dignity of the human person and the right parents have to be the primary educators of their children's morality.
And, of course, remember - it's always worth considering independent education for our children. That's so far is the best and the most reliable way to save our children from abuse. Because even if the legal action succeeds, this perverse curriculum is still not going to be abolished overnight.

Faithful Priest Suspended For Denouncing Abortion And Promiscuity
His superior, Bishop Valery Vienneau, believes that his homily lacked pastoral approach and "sensitivity":
Let's compare Fr. Gionet's ordeal to the treatment of another priest. The one that kept openly objecting the Church teachings and embracing heretical views on the floor of the House of Commons, who insisted that "nobody, not even the Pope himself" would stop him from continuing to receive the Holy Communion. Yes I'm talking about one Raymond Gravel. How long did it take for him to finally get his credentials revoked? Five years? Six? Maybe even more, if we count his earlier rebellious statements. That's about 60 or 70 if not 100 times longer than it took to suspect a faithful priest who dared to criticize an intrinsically disordered lifestyle choice of a local politician.
And guess what - not only was the diocese so reluctant to suspend Gravel, they were even ready to make him in charge of the... Catechism class. Yes, a renegade priest is just the right man to teach Catechism to the children, isn't he? But something tells me that we won't see Father Gionet being appointed a Catechism teacher. Faithful priests don't get a second chance nowadays. Comparing these two cases, it's hard not to agree with Fr. Donat Gionet that he is now living “like the first Christians did at the beginning of the Church: they had to hide in the catacombs to pray or celebrate the Eucharist.” Cardinal Ouillet apparently was lucky that he is a Cardinal, not an ordinary priest. Otherwise, I bet, they'd suspend him too...
BATHURST, New Brunswick, September 22, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Catholic Diocese of Bathurst, New Brunswick has removed an elderly priest from active ministry after he caused a storm of controversy by denouncing homosexuality, cohabitation, and abortion in an August homily. Here are some more details about the homily that ignited the controversy:
...
Fr. Wesley Wade, the diocese’s vicar general, told Radio-Canada that Fr. Gionet’s comments were consistent with Church teaching, but lacked the proper “pastoral” sensitivity.
“It was mainly the pastoral approach that was lacking,” Fr. Wade said. “A lack of respect, perhaps, for the people identified, for the groups of people as well, which caused a division in the community. It was a difficult decision.”
...
A member of the Eudist Fathers, Fr. Gionet had been accused by parishioners of “homophobia” in media reports last week after he criticized a homosexual parade in Moncton in an August 20-21 homily. His loudest critic was the mayor of Saint-Leolin, Joseph Lanteigne, an open homosexual and member of the parish council, who demanded the priest’s suspension.
In an open letter Thursday, Fr. Gionet laments that the diocese did not give him an opportunity to explain himself before suspending him.
“To you, the diocesan authorities: did you ask me what I said exactly during the homily in question?” the priest asks. “They did not, but only listened to people who are frustrated.”
"I said: ... 'Today, it is we Catholics who are destroying our Catholic Church. We need only look at the number of abortions among Catholics, look at the homosexuals, and ourselves.' (That's when I pointed at my chest - through that action I wanted to say, we the priests) and I continued saying: We are destroying our church ourselves. And that's when I said that those were the words expressed by Pope John Paul II. At that point, in the St-Leolin church only, I added: We can add to that the practice of watching 'gay' parades, we are encouraging this evil ... What would you think of someone who seeing what was happening on (Sept.) 11, 2001, the crumbling of the towers, had begun clapping? We must not encourage evil, whatever form it takes."So, Rev. Donat Gionet compared mass destruction of souls, resulting from those perverse parades to the mass destruction of lives that took place on September 11 and argued that applauding the former is no better than applauding the latter. Yes, there were certainly some who didn't like such a straightforward comparison, among them - that perverted politician who happens to run the village in which Rev. Donat Gionet delivered his homily. But is it a valid reason to suspend a faithful priest?
Let's compare Fr. Gionet's ordeal to the treatment of another priest. The one that kept openly objecting the Church teachings and embracing heretical views on the floor of the House of Commons, who insisted that "nobody, not even the Pope himself" would stop him from continuing to receive the Holy Communion. Social Media Sites Censor Christian Content
Social media sites allow every concerned individual (let alone - a group ) to reach out to a practically unlimited audience. However, as the new study shows, some groups appear to be less equal than others. Guess which ones:
But what about the alternatives? Sure I've seen social media sites that were supposed to become a Christian or a Catholic alternative to Facebook - those sites have either failed or - will fail eventually due to lack of members. Because you can never succeed by merely trying to copy someone else's idea, to merely catch up to a popular project... Are there any bright ideas of a real alternative? Any serious attempts to build an alternative social network that would be better than the familiar social media sites, not "just like Facebook, but for us"? I wish this wasn't a rhetorical question.
Update: LifeSiteNews translator and pro-family activist Julio Severo cut off by PayPal, following a pressure campaign by homosexual lobby groups.
According to the study, seven of the major social media sites have banned “hate speech,” a term that the study authors point out “is often applied in the culture to stifle Christian communicators.”Considering that one of the Facebook co-founders is involved in a perverse relationship - what else would we expect? And, talking about Facebook - here are few comments from the Shire Network News on some of the changes Facebook is implementing. I rarely use Facebook (and I've disabled e-mail notifications) so I didn't know that Facebook groups now work on an "opt-out" bases, rather than "opt-in".
The study authors also found that some of the media companies have been responsive to demands by pressure groups calling for censorship of conservative or Christian viewpoints.
The study notes that when Google established new guidelines for its “Google for Non-Profits” in March 2011, it refused to list “churches and other faith groups” that consider “religion or sexual orientation in hiring practices.” Christian churches that have applied for the suite of Google tools geared at non-profits have been rejected.
...
Apple has twice removed applications that contained Christian content from its iTunes App Store, the study documented. In both instances, Apple admitted that these apps were denied access because it considered the Christian viewpoints expressed in those applications to be “offensive.”
“Of the 425,000 apps available on Apple’s iPhone, the only ones censored by Apple for expressing otherwise lawful viewpoints have been apps with Christian content,” observes the study.
For its part, Facebook has openly partnered with homosexual activists to “eradicate anti-gay comments on its platform,” the report found. “All of which suggest that Christian content critical of homosexuality, same-sex marriage, or similar practices will be at risk of censorship [by Facebook]” says the study. In fact, in some cases such content already has been removed by the social networking site.
But what about the alternatives? Sure I've seen social media sites that were supposed to become a Christian or a Catholic alternative to Facebook - those sites have either failed or - will fail eventually due to lack of members. ...A Late, Late-Term Abortion
An article by Jonathon Van Maren from the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform:
On September 9, 2011, CBC reported that Ms. Effert’s conviction for this murder had been ‘downgraded’ by an Edmonton Court of Queen’s Bench judge to infanticide, and in lieu of jail time she will merely serve a suspended sentence. That's typical of them, isn't it? They were quite outraged when Ann Coulter referred to Tiller's murder as "203rd trimester termination", but it turns out that the pro-aborts themselves view infanticide as just that - a late, late-term abortion.
In her argument, the judge stated that “while many Canadians undoubtedly view abortion as a less than ideal solution to unprotected sex and unwanted pregnancy, they generally understand, accept, and sympathize with the onerous demands pregnancy and childbirth exact from mothers, especially mothers without support.”
Translation? Katrina Effert simply engaged in a really, really late-term abortion. Given that we don’t, under Canadian law, value human life a few minutes before birth, why a few minutes after?
Indeed, the Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada, run by the virulently pro-abortion Joyce Arthur, posted the CBC article on their Facebook page with the heading: “A tragic situation, but yes, there are compelling reasons for infanticide being a lesser crime than murder.” In response to my query simply stating “Such as?” ARCC removed the comment and blocked my asking further questions underneath the article.

You Can Strangle Your Newborn Child, Just Don't Spank Him
Check out this video report by Michael Coren. Yes, believe it or not, a devoted parent that took the trouble to discipline his child was treated far more harshly than a woman who strangled her newborn baby and threw the body over the fence. Of course, the fact that the above mentioned parent was a Christian man, played a significant role in his and his family's ordeal.
H/t Blazing Cat Fur Too bad, there's no name of that feminazi jackboot posing as social worker; the one for whom traditional family relationship means slavery, and who will most likely not bear any personal responsibility for abusing her authority, for striving to destroy a successful family just for adhering to values she didn't agree with, for using parents and children as guinea pigs in her social experiment...
But I can name another person - a politician who's been repeatedly trying to further restrict parental rights. I'm talking about Céline Hervieux-Payette, a Liberal Senator for Quebec, who kept introducing "anti-spanking" bill in the Senate since 2004. Fortunately, she doesn't have much chances during this Parliament and once this Parliament is over, she'll be retiring soon thereafter... But at one point she actually was on the brink of success. Her bill passed the Senate and went to the House of Commons where the Conservative minority (only 125 seats back then) would be powerless to stop it.
In the end, it was the 2008 election that saved Canadian families from even more government intrusion, harassment and persecution. But, as you can see, lack of an official ban doesn't mean lack of persecution for devoted parents.

Argument Over Values: Secularist Anger Versus Christian Common Sense
When printed in the same paper or posted on the same web page, that's even more visible. Here's an article by Matthew Brown - he compares Christian moral code and moral relativism, analyzes the consequences and leads us to the conclusion that is self-evident:
And what exactly is so special about "this day and age" that makes it a thought crime to criticize moral relativism and argue in favor of Christian values? Except that it's been about half-a-century since moral relativism became the dominant ideology, its negative consequences are now visible and comparing moral relativism to Christian moral code is by no means advantageous to the former.
Ms.MacDonald needs to ask herself what a marriage is all about. If it's just about who sleeps with whom then what's so different between a union of two males or two females and a union of three or more individuals, regardless of their gender? Why is it considered to be "progressive" to accept the former, but not the latter? If however we consider the self-evident truth that men and women are not interchangeable (which doesn't make them unequal by any means,) that marriage is about establishing a relationship that is of both unitive and procreative nature, that strong marriages and strong families warrant a strong society - then none of those questions would even arise, because everything is just that - self-evident.
All it takes is to dump the misleading moral-relativist ideology. If Ms.MacDonald prefers to defy common sense and to stick to the illusions of moral relativism - then those qualities she has attributed to herself fit her perfectly - and without sarcasm.
The prime minister of Britain and the president of United States have both recognized the state of brokenness of their societies. The breakdown of the family and the abandonment of moral code have left many people with no direction or purpose. In response, his critic has nothing but anger:
I want to invite you, the reader, to consider which society you prefer to live in:
1. A Christian society based on a moral code handed down to us for thousands of years. This society dedicates itself to discerning God’s will and to living in accordance with his teachings. This society takes a lot of work. It includes some self-denial. Priests and church leaders, like all of us, will often fail or get it wrong. Our sins can cause much pain. God only asks that we admit our sins and failings, and ask for forgiveness. We must ask forgiveness from those whom we’ve hurt and make restitution when possible. There can be great healing. With forgiveness and healing, we can know the peace that God wants for us and our society.
2. The alternative is a society based on a ‘flavour of the month’ philosophy. This can include Hollywood’s definition of marriage or even Bountiful’s, for that matter. It can include government-funded destruction of life at the beginning, as with abortion, or at the end, as with euthanasia.
We don’t need forgiveness or even guilt since no one can impose their sense of what is wrong on us. Family breakup and divorce become casual and sacramental marriage becomes irrelevant. This is a lazy society. It doesn’t require much of anyone. It allows movie stars and special interest groups to determine what is morally right or wrong. Leaders can get elected and make policies by simply poling their constituents. Children grow up confused and despondent. As we go down this latter road, we will begin to see the outcome of some of the political decisions made over the past 50 years...
I cannot begin to express my frustration regarding Matthew Brown’s commentary ‘The ‘flavour of the month’ moral relativism’ (The Guardian, Sept. 9, 2011). In fact, if I tried to express how offended I am honestly and completely, it would most certainly not get printed. Putting aside the fact that this newspaper had the gall to publish such biased borderline-propaganda, the anti-secularism exhibited by Brown is truly appalling in this day and age.Double-plus ungood! Verging crimethink! How dare you publish that herecy "in this day and age"?!...
Brown simultaneously attempts to call out Jackson Doughart and David Bulger for their ‘moral relativism’ while he peppers his piece with what I consider hypocrisy. He says we can “work to build a society that respects all human life” – how about respecting the rights of all humans to marry whomever they wish? Or should we just respect those people Brown deems worthy?Yeah, as if there was no difference between not letting someone to be born and not agreeing to redefine timeless institution to suit one's lifestyle choice.

Birth Is An Arbitrary Threshold To Define Life
If judged by his level of development and degree of dependency, the newborn is still a fetus: corrupt "honorable" in"justice" J.Veit, does life of a baby become as valuable as any other human life?
And when is Canada finally going to have impartial common sense judges that are ready to acknowledge the self-evident fact that life begins at conception and that personhood is a right that should not be dependent upon the baby's size, level of development, environment or degree of dependency.
Once again, science has unwittingly provided additional support for the pro-life cause. And it looks like some judges in this country believe that if the fetus is not protected by law, neither should be the newborn. At least that was the justification cited by an Alberta judge that let a woman convicted of strangling her newborn son walk free. So when does life and personhood begin if in the eyes of "justice" Joanne Veit? When, according to the
The National Geographic channel recently broadcast a program called “Science of Babies”, which is available for viewing on their website here. It’s a really well-done program offering fresh insight into the science behind the development of babies in their first year. It’s also very cute, with lots of delectable footage of newborns goofing around. I recommend that you take 45 minutes of your time to watch it.
I’d like to draw your attention to a section less than 5 minutes long. It starts at 5:25 and ends at 8:55. This segment aims to provide a scientific explanation of why newborn babies are so helpless compared to newborn animals in the wild. Personally, I’ve always wondered why humans take 1 year to stumble through their first steps while some animals are literally running around just hours after birth. Their evidence is very persuasive and supports the pro-life view that the moment of human birth is an arbitrary demarcation for abortion legislation because it doesn’t correspond to any particular change in a baby’s development or state of being. They explain that a newborn is still a fetus, which undermines the pro-abortion argument that a fetus and a newborn deserve different protection under the law.
And when is Canada finally going to have impartial common sense judges that are ready to acknowledge the self-evident fact that life begins at conception and that personhood is a right that should not be dependent upon the baby's size, level of development, environment or degree of dependency.

Structured Homeschooling Gets an A+
Check out this article in Science Daily:
Well, that's probably one more reason why homeschooling succeeds. After all, those parents who value the opportunity to be in charge of their children's education and who have to work hard to be able to afford independent schooling, don't believe in the kind of "fairness" that involves taking parents' and neighbors' money, directed to help a specific school and redistributing it to completely different schools that either fail or don't even bother to raise funds from the community. They believe in merit and hard work; they teach their children to take full control of their lives and not to rely on the nanny state to solve their problems for them. And that's turns out to be the best way to succeed - academically, socially, professionally and financially...
ScienceDaily (Sep. 8, 2011) — "There's no place like home," an iconic line uttered by Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, might apply to learning the ABC's, math and other core subjects. A new study from Concordia University and Mount Allison University has found that homeschooling -- as long as it's structured or follows a curriculum -- can provide kids with an academic edge.Makes sense, doesn't it? The government policies however favor public schools, that are much less efficient, to say the least:
"Structured homeschooling may offer opportunities for academic performance beyond those typically experienced in public schools," says first author Sandra Martin-Chang, a professor in the Concordia Department of Education, noting this is among the first nonpartisan studies to investigate home education versus public schooling.
Published in the Canadian Journal of Behavioural Science, the investigation compared 74 children living in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick: 37 who were homeschooled versus 37 who attended public schools. Participants were between 5 and 10 years old and each child was asked to complete standardized tests, under supervision of the research team, to assess their reading, writing, arithmetic skills, etc.
"Although public school children we assessed were performing at or above expected levels for their ages, children who received structured homeschooling had superior test results compared to their peers: From a half-grade advantage in math to 2.2 grade levels in reading," says Martin-Chang. "This advantage may be explained by several factors including smaller class sizes, more individualized instruction, or more academic time spent on core subjects such as reading and writing."
In Canada, government schooling operates on the basis of extortion. That's a well-established fact. Parents who choose other options for educating their children still have to pay, through their taxes, to keep the doors of these government schools open. They pay to educate their own children and they pay for the child care and crowd control services for the other children in their community. And, talking about the school funding - there is a rather interesting debate going on in Toronto, where some crazed egalitarians believe that even if public schools should still be allowed to raise funds from the community - they shouldn't be allowed to keep all the money they raise - "to ensure fairness".

Anti-White Racist Gathering In Durban - Now And Then
It took place just days before September 11. A conference with a noble goal of fighting racism that soon became the biggest orgy of anti-white racism of the time, championing antisemitism and anti-US rhetoric, prompting not just Israel, but also the US to withdraw from the conference. (There were rumors that some Arab countries threatened the US with an oil embargo in retaliation...) Now they're looking forward to celebrate 10th anniversary of this anti-white, anti-Western, anti-Israeli gathering - with the "Durban III" conference in New York City:
The U.N. gamesmanship at work here is a form of art. Russia has been suggesting language for the new declaration that would denigrate free speech and place restrictions on the media. The OIC states, keen on denigrating Israel above all, have stepped in to propose a "middle ground" that purports to "give up" anti-free speech provisions in exchange for including cloaked Israel-bashing provisions. Belgium, Ireland, Norway, and Switzerland are seemingly anxious to sign on. And the French are delighted that the U.N.-speak has become convoluted enough for them to sign, too. And all the negotiators are careful simply to refer to the Israel-problem as the "sensitive" issue. In other words, don't expect anything positive to come out of it. Nothing except more Israel-bashing, more anti-white, anti-Western, anti-US rant:
Nine member states, including the US, are already boycotting the September 22 conference. It is clear that no nation that treasures freedom of speech and is dedicated to fighting racism like the kind shown by Libyans who are slaughtering black Africans, should sign this excerable document. But many in the west are less devoted to those concepts - especially where their own anti-Semitism can be exposed. At least this time (unlike 10 years ago,) Canada is boycotting this shameful hatefest.
Hence, mutliculturalism will win out and justice and fairness will lose.

The Day The World Stopped Turning
H/t Scaramouche
This is about remembering what happened, who made it happen and why they did it. Let's remember the people who died - not on the battlefield, without bearing arms; who were brutally murdered because American freedom and prosperity annoyed a bunch of bloodthirsty jihadist troglodytes.
Let's remember the courage of those who sacrificed themselves trying to save others. Of the firefighters who perished in the collapsing building. And of the passengers on flight 93 who chose to fight back - if not to save their own lives then to save the lives of many others that could have been killed that day.
Let's re-dedicate ourselves to freedom these people died for.

Free Speech On Campus
John Carpay from the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms discusses freedom of speech on university campuses with Ezra Levant: What was supposed to be the marketplace of ideas, has been monopolized by the extreme left to such extent that many university officials sincerely believe that speech restrictions which they impose on campuses, supersede the Charter. University campuses are the place where the Berlin wall is still standing.
And here's another reason not to bother with university education:
And here's another reason not to bother with university education:
A widely published American study recently indicated that most students, tested at different times in their lives, do not improve their capacity to think by attending university. In other words, post-secondary education fails to do its main job, more often than not.Why would they care about improving students' capacity to think? So that there would be more students insisting on their constitutional right to disagree with the ultra-left mob on campuses?
A dreadful accusation, but probably true.
No one argues that Canadian universities perform this task any better. Nevertheless, that’s precisely the kind of question that the scholars who wrote “Retooling the Humanities” prefer to ignore. So far as we can tell, they neither know nor care about the effect of their teaching on undergraduates. It’s apparently the last thing on their mind.

11 Myths About Abortion
The Interim offers a great collection of pro-life answers to dispel those pro-abort myths. Check out this article by Pauline Kosalka:
#11 The pro-life movement is a religious causeNow in light of the upcoming 40 Days for Life, the pro-aborts are trying to take advantage of that myth, claiming that if our activities involve prayer vigils - then that's a religious cause and if it is a religious cause... There's just one difference they pretend not to notice: pro-life views have scientific backing. Pro-life prayer vigils don't call on people to blindly accept a religious dogma, but to acknowledge known self-evident scientific facts.
Opponents often label the pro-life movement as solely motivated by religion, claiming that religious zealots are seeking to impose their morality on others. Abortion advocates use the argument of separation of church and state to counter calls for protection for unborn life. This is in part because often pro-lifers conclude that life is sacred because it is a gift from God. Furthermore, abortion is condemned by many Christian denominations. Yet, there is firm scientific proof that supports the pro-life position and that opposition can be rooted in something other than religious belief. Indeed, there are many pro-lifers who are not religious. This includes the Atheist and Agnostic Pro-Life League, which states on its home page, that “life is all there is and all that matters, and abortion destroys the life of an innocent human being.” The organization Libertarians for Life also defends the pro-life position. According to its web site, “libertarianism’s basic principle is that each of us has the obligation not to (violate the rights of) anyone else … one’s right to control one’s own body does not allow violating the obligation not to aggress. There is never a right to kill an innocent person. Prenatally, we are all innocent persons.”

$10,000 Tax Credit For Hiring Immigrants? There Is A Better Way!
After running Ontario for 8 years and reducing the province to a "have-not" status, Dalton McGuinty came up with a brilliant idea to address unemployment among newcomers - with $10,000 tax credits for businesses that hire recent immigrants. So, should Ontario Liberals win a third mandate - be prepared to be asked whether or not you are a recent immigrant right when you apply for the job. And if you answer "no" or just leave that questionnaire (which ironically has "employment equity" in its title) blank - be prepared to deal with the consequences; nothing personal, it's just that other guy comes with a $10,000 cheque...
Also, don't be surprised if some of your colleagues suddenly start acting as if they own the place - arriving late, leaving early, taking extra breaks, spending time doing anything but working, but nobody dares to even reprimand them, because if they quit (let alone - get fired) the company may have to return those $10,000 cheques... Be ready to hear in the news about some phony companies offering fictitious jobs, about dishonest consultants providing people with fake biographies, about some creative individuals pretending to be recent arrivals and using boarding passes from their last vacation as a proof...
In brief it's a bad idea. And, apparently, there won't even be that many people benefiting from it - just 1,200 immigrants out of over 100,000 who come to Ontario every year. Plus, there's still a chance that OntarioBolsheviks Liberals will be voted out of power. But the trend is alarming. After all, the Ontario PC leader, Tim Hudak, too has sounded a proposal to offer tax credit for employers who sponsor language training for immigrants. And no, we're not talking about learning Java or C#... What happened to common sense?
Let's look at Australia. They require prospective immigrants whose dependants don't speak English to pay a special fee - about $1100, to cover the language training costs. Now, that's common sense; it should be newcomers themselves paying for their own and their family members' language courses, not the businesses, not the taxpayers. And that's not the only common sense policy they have. Prospective immigrants to Australia are also required to have their diplomas and work experience validated by the respective professional association. Only once it's been confirmed that their skills are up to the market standards, they can go ahead and apply for immigration. Now, doesn't that make a lot more sense than bribing employers with $10,000 cheques?

The Union Disadvantage
According to a new research by Nanos, most Canadians want more freedom from their unions, including - the right not to fund the union's political agenda, the right not to participate in a strike and even - the right not to join altogether.
Nearly eight in 10 who did not hold a union job would not want to be unionized if given the choice, Nanos said. Nearly 84% agreed with having a secret ballot vote when forming a union is on the table."Unions were relevant at one time, but no longer". Check out this video: John Mortimer, president of LabourWatch, said Canada is the only country where someone's job is at risk if they don't finance their union's political agenda.
Roughly three-quarters agreed with the right of workers to cross picket lines.
The majority of workers were also opposed to the idea of union dues paying for things such as partisan politics (59.8%), including attack ads (73.3%) and non-work advocacy groups (70%).
A whopping 83% of Canadians agreed with mandatory public financial disclosure for both public and private sector unions on a regular basis.
John Mortimer, president of LabourWatch, said Canada is the only country where someone's job is at risk if they don't finance a union's political agenda. That's because union dues in Canada are a condition of employment.

WWJD? Homeschool
Homeschooling From Christian Prospective. (Right on time for the start of the new school year.) Check out this World Net Daily article:
We see in Jesus’ method of discipling three primary things: teaching, mentoring, and investment of time.Well, we know what the alternative is, don't we?
Teaching – Jesus is the supreme “good Teacher” (Luke 18:18). He taught His disciples daily (Luke 19:47); He traveled all over the region with His disciples as they watched Him teach others (Luke 23:5); other religious leaders recognized that Jesus was a teacher sent by God (John 3:2); Jesus’ apostles acknowledged that His teachings were the words of eternal life (John 6:68); Jesus acknowledged He was their Lord and Teacher (John 13:14); and even immediately after Jesus’ physical resurrection, some of His followers continued to call him Teacher (John 20:16).
Mentoring – Jesus’ teaching style was far more than just talk and passing on “head knowledge”; He lived the life for them to see and follow. His disciples saw Jesus often go away to pray on His own, which prompted them to ask how they, too, should pray (Luke 11:1). His apostles saw Jesus heal the sick, cast out demons, raise the dead and preach the gospel. Later, after years of pouring His life into them, Jesus then confidently sent them on the “Great Commission” (Matthew 28:16-20).
Time Investment – The disciples did not take a class with Jesus, nor did they spend a mere semester under Jesus’ training; rather, they spent about three and a half years with Jesus, with no spring or summer breaks, no Christmas vacations. This was a 24-hour/365-day-a-year “course” taught by the greatest Teacher this world has ever known. Jesus knew that you had to devote quality time with people to really make a powerful impact on their lives. Dr. John MacArthur points out in his book “Twelve Ordinary Men,” “[The disciples] could listen to His [Jesus'] teaching, ask Him questions, watch how He dealt with people, and enjoy intimate fellowship with Him in every kind of setting. … He graciously encouraged them, lovingly corrected them, and patiently instructed them. That is how the best learning always occurs. It isn’t just information passed on; it’s one life invested in another.”

Silent Scream Broadcast On Sun News Network
Check out this video - Michael Coren interviews Rebecca Richmond, the executive director of the National Campus Life Network on Sun TV. And, as part of the interview, they broadcast the Silent Scream - the footage of an ultrasound guided abortion, during which the baby tries to escape the lethal instrument and opens his mouth in a silent scream of agony.
Not sure if this was the first occasion ever for the Silent Scream to be broadcast on TV, but here in Canada - it was certainly the first time an impartial viewer was presented with pro-life material in such form. Hopefully, Sun News won't stop there.
H/t Blazing Cat Fur
Now there will be a few more people realizing that abortion ends the baby's life (and that this is not a religious belief, but a scientific fact,) that even before birth, babies can feel pain and that they want to live just as much as we do.

Video: Former "Planned Parenthood" Manager Tells Her Story
This time it's not Abby Johnson, but Ramona Trevino, another former manager of the "planned parenthood" facility, who quit her job and became pro-life. Ramona tells her story at the pro-life rally in Sherman, TX, explaining what made her want to quit her job with the abortion giant and sharing the experience of her conversion.
P.S. Yes, it was the 40 Days for Life vigil that moved Ramona to consider quitting her "planned parenthood" job. And the facility itself has since closed its doors.
